What is SunSmart?

SunSmart is an app that helps you check the UV index and stay safe in the sun. It tells you to put on sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses) when the UV index is high. It also lets you put in information about yourself to get more thorough advice.

What is UV?

UV stands for ultraviolet, which is a type of radiation that comes from the sun. While some UV is beneficial, excessive exposure can lead to sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer.

Why did I build SunSmart?

My family and many others I know are cancer prone. I lost many people to cancer and I recently realized how little many people understand about UV exposure and its long-term effects. I created SunSmart to help people make informed decisions about sun protection and reduce their risk of skin cancer.
